Plummer's Knowe
December 2010
Construction workers from Austria have been erecting the Brettstapel superstructure for the private house at Plummer's Knowe, which despite tough snowy conditions has now been completed.
With all the external windows and doors also now fitted to the superstructure, the first air-tightness test could be conducted to establish the performance of the building fabric. The result achieved for this test was 0.38 ACH (1/h) (0.51m3/(h*m2)), which exceeded the PassivHaus standard target 0.6 ACH (1/h).
In the New Year, the next phase of the project will commence and will be the internal and external fit-out for the house, with an estimated completion date of May 2011.
